February 16 – 19, 2027
The InterContinental Hotel, Miami
For 20 years, Knight Media Forum has brought together the people shaping journalism, civic life, arts and culture, research, technology and communities.
Today, the First Amendment is being tested. Technology and artificial intelligence are changing how information moves and how people participate in civic life. Across the country, people are working every day to strengthen the institutions, ideas and relationships their communities rely on.
We can shape the forces defining our future. Your work belongs in that conversation.

A Forum for Exchange
KMF is designed to connect national conversations with local insight, and local experience with national possibility. The forum brings ideas, data and lived experience into the same room, creating space for honest questions, useful connections and new approaches to shared challenges.
KMF is invitation only and brings together approximately 1,200 journalists, media executives, civic leaders, artists, researchers, academics, funders, policymakers and local practitioners from across the Knight network.
Whether you lead a newsroom, run a business, support a community, create art, conduct research, build technology, inform policy or organize people around a shared purpose, your experience is part of the conversation and offers essential insight into the challenges facing public life.
KMF is designed for connection, expect shared meals, artistic experiences and time simply to meet, reflect and recharge together.
The Forum is dedicated to serving Knight Foundation’s grantees and the communities where we work. The event is by invitation only, with no registration fee. Discounted accommodations are available for registrants on a first-come first-served basis.
Schedule
Knight Media Forum 2027 will kick off with a welcome reception on the evening of Tuesday, February 16, and conclude after breakfast on Friday, February 19.
More information about the agenda and programming will be released as the we approach the event.
About Knight Media Forum
20 years ago, Knight Foundation launched the Knight Media Learning Seminar with a simple idea: bring together local funders, civic leaders and innovators in journalism, policy and education to tackle shared challenges. That idea grew into what is now Knight Media Forum; a national gathering where leaders in news, philanthropy, academia and the arts come together to strengthen local communities.
KMF27 marks the forum’s 20th annual gathering. It is a moment to look clearly at what is at stake, recognize the work already underway and strengthen the relationships that will carry it forward.
